Mixing Prints And Textures Like A Pro

Happy Tuesday loves! With the autumn weather in full effect, I've been having so much fun with different methods of layering this season. One of my favorite ways to style my fall pieces is mixing prints and textures. If you ask me, this method is a classic way to styling yourself and appropriate for any season. Today, I'll be showing you guys how using this method can instantly elevate your wardrobe.

The number 1 rule to mixing prints and textures like a professional is to become comfortable with being daring and bold in your style. There are many fashion rules, but it's okay to pair colors, textures, and prints that wouldn't normally match, but complement each other well. In the spirit of fall, I decided to make the red/orange palette as a foundation for my look. I wore an orange tie dye velvet high neck top with a burgundy snakeskin leather skirt, and an orange leather trench coat. To add some balance and sleekness, I threw on my white leather croc boots. As you all know I'm obsessed with accessorizing, so I added my mini blue shopper and wrap around rust sunglasses.

I had so much fun creating this outfit for many reasons. Each piece contains subtle, yet intricate details that really made the look come together. The snakeskin in the skirt creates a nice contrast with the faint tie dye in the top, while pairing leather with such a fun fabric like velvet brings cohesion to any look. These small-scale prints (among others) act as solids in your wardrobe. Mixing textures and prints is how you get your look to really POP, by creating more dimension which makes an overall statement that you'll love!
