I Spent 72 Hours In Paris — Here’s What I Wore

Have you ever had those moments where you pause and think you’re living in answered prayers? Yeah, that’s how life has been feeling for me lately. Don’t get me wrong, every moment is a blessing, but sometimes, you can’t help but pause in gratitude because (once again), God has blown your mind in the best way possible. Recently, I had the privilege of attending a press trip in Paris, both monumental "firsts" for me.  Although the trip was brief, it was undoubtedly one of the best moments of my life. From dinner cruising on the Seine under the Eiffel Tower to seeing Moulin Rouge, my dreams came true so quickly. How did I get so blessed? I’ll never fully comprehend it, but I’m immensely grateful.

Being that it was my first time in Paris and my last name is Parris, bringing some of my best looks was a no-brainer. (It’d be quite disrespectful if I didn’t put it on!) Although I had a pretty packed itinerary (after all, this was a work trip), I found the time to get some content in and make some memories of this unforgettable experience. Thanks to some help from a friend, I found the perfect photographer to bring my Parisian fly girl dreams to life. Denim on denim is always a good idea, regardless of the city you’re in. While exploring after landing early, I threw on my version of the Canadian Tuxedo: a biker denim jacket, a frayed denim maxi skirt, and bandana-print kitten heels. Accessorizing is key, so I threw on a pair of Y2K shades, an edgy shoulder bag adorned with the most stellar metallic detailing, and a vintage Parisian headscarf I snagged from my big sister’s thrift store a few years back. The perfect blend of my New York street style with the effortless je ne sais quoi of the French capital.

Although we traveled with a luggage brand, PR made sure to put dress codes for each activity. We had the dinner cruise for the first night, so I wanted to give a sophisticated, yet alluring moment. This aqua turquoise frock fit the bill perfectly — from its crisscross neckline to its sleek, gathered waist that hugged my curves too well. And I’m a gold jewelry kind of girl, so it was only right that I accessorize with various pieces, from gold bangles to gold rings.

For our first full 24 hours (technically second day) there, we were taken on a day full of escapades, from visiting a 19th century-old perfumery to touring the brand’s headquarters and Boulevard de la Madeleine store Naturally, I wore the ultimate Parisienne chic look: a white button-down layered under a neutral oversized blazer with a plaid pleated skirt, black lace nights, and black platform shoes. While the pastel pink beret was a classic ode to the culture, the piéce de résistance was the Prada nappa leather bag. Snagged at a too-good-to-miss deal from an archive sale (shoutout to my sister KP), debuting this piece in Paris felt right. From its high-quality padded leather to its bag charm adorned with the “Re-edition 2002” branding, I knew this bag would be the perfect accessory for my outfit.

One of the PR guys said he wanted to see “LOOKS” for our private dinner at Lafayette’s and late night at Moulin Rouge, so of course, I delivered. For the fabulous evening, I donned a white feather-trim dress with one of my favorite pink heels and a classy clutch. My peers kept telling me I was on theme with the cabaret show costumes, as many of them featured feather-trimming for the women’s dresses. The perfect playful, flirty number for the most memorable last night in Parí.
