Textures and Tones

Updated: Dec 24, 2019

Happy Monday loves! As we all know, sometimes the weather especially in NYC can be extremely cold at times, and make you just want to throw on a boring sweatsuit for the sake of being warm. However, you can still dress bomb and remain cozy. If you’re a person who loves looking good, but prefers warmth, look no further because I’ve got you covered!

There are tons of approaches you can take to styling items of your wardrobe to create a unique look. My favorite method for the winter is styling by tone. As you can see, I decided to pair different pieces together in one of my favorite color palettes, brown. I wore a classic brown turtleneck with a textured crushed velvet dress with white buttons and my go-to brown tortoise print purse. You guys already know I had to add a pop of color and shades. To top it off, I sealed the look with my burgundy boots, and classic nude shades.

I loved wearing this outfit because it’s not only warm, but is a step outside of my comfort zone. I never thought I would be into crushed velvet, but I love the contrast between the dress’ texture and the print of the bag. Velvet has become a staple for me this season and can be the perfect statement piece for any fall or winter look.

Look Details:

Turtleneck, Dress, & Boots: Zara
