How to Transition From Spring to Summer, the New York Way

There's summer, and then there's a New York summer. For those who are NYC natives like myself, you'd understand there's a particular enthusiasm that happens when warm weather meets such an iconic city. Similar to the energy in the air, it's safe to say the season brings out some of the street style set's best outfits of the year. From the classic crop white tee and low-rise Y2K jeans combo to the revival of camouflage cargo and a Yankees cap, New York street style is unmatched. Keep scrolling for my elevated take on city fashion that's perfect for transitioning from spring to summer.

As pictured, I wore a vintage blue jersey, a cargo skirt by Pink Plastic Babez, and black high-top sneakers from Rick Owens. I wore the highly coveted blue and pink beanie from Mea Culpa's collaboration with LaLa Vasquez, a vintage Coach bag, and giant pink sunglasses from Miss Lola to accessorize. I went with my signature ring set for even more of a statement.

Although cargo skirts have become a "new trend," they've always been a mainstay for New Yorkers. While you can wear them in any season, it's the perfect streetwear piece for summer. No detail is identical or a perfect match in this look, yet everything seamlessly works. The skirt's deconstructed silhouette contrasts nicely with the jersey and bag, creating the ultimate 90s vibe. Meanwhile, the beanie and sneakers add a modern touch, channeling that effortless New York aura.
