Here's An Unusual Winter Outfit You'll Want To Wear On Repeat

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

When it comes to winter dressing, there’s one unwanted caveat that arises — the art of layering properly without looking frumpy. Yes, being comfortable and cozy is the ultimate objective, but let’s face it for every fashion lover out there, you can’t resist wanting to create a moment all the time. Whether you’re planning an upcoming Fashion Week outfit or in the mood to be extra on a casual, 29 degree day, here’s the perfect solution to staying stylish and cozy.

There’s nothing like creating a tonal look to achieve comfort and style. So, I wore a white turtleneck with a Renaissance-print white skirt and a pair of classic Rick Owens. To achieve maximum coziness, I layered a white cropped puffer over a long, grey wool coat. And of course, you can never go wrong with accessories, so I added a grey beanie with a grey and white cowhide bag.

Now let’s get into the piece de resistance of the outfit. The concept of wearing two coats is not common and admittedly a little risky, but if you’re a statement dresser, taking risks are the norm. It’s not exactly impractical and quite comfortable, depending on the styles and colors of the coats you choose to combine. You can opt for a more slim-fit, long coat and a baggy short puffer like I did here. The difference in silhouette adds extra dimension to the look, without looking weird. Not to mention, playing with outerwear of the same color palette makes the hack so much more fun and easy to pull off. In addition, the Renaissance print and cowhide working as solids with two complimentary colors (grey and white) completes the outfit even more.

"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

Habakkuk 2:2-3 {KJV}

Much love and peace,
